I absolutely love makeup and I am always looking for the next best beauty product to try (feel free to leave some of your favorites so I can try them out!). When I ran out of my old foundation I decided to look for a new one instead of just buying the one that I had always used. There are three things I was really looking for: 1. it had to be light-weight. I hate wearing foundation that makes me feel like I am carrying pounds of makeup on my face. 2. It had to be thin. Last thing I ever want is to be wearing thick makeup that makes my face look cakey. I wanted a foundation that was going to make my skin look flawless and natural at the same time. 3. It needed to provide a nice, even coverage. I wanted more coverage than tinted moisturizer because I have some redness that I wanted to hide, but less coverage than a heavy foundation that made it look like I was wearing a lot of makeup. As I scoured through the aisles at Sephora I finally found the product I had been looking for. Cover FX’s Natural FX Water Based Foundation is a liquid foundation that gives you a natural looking finish without being too heavy. The trick is that this formula is water based which makes it light while allowing for as much coverage as you desire. The foundation is a little pricey, but if you do not mind spending the money this foundation is completely worth. 2012 is definitely Rachel Bilson’s year! She is the star of a new hit TV show, Hart of Dixie, and has launched her own shoe company. At 30 years old, Rachel Bilson is taking the world by storm and she is not slowing down anytime soon.

Rachel Bilson’s new show Hart of Dixie is the story about a New York girl, Dr. Zoe Hart played by Bilson, who has the dream of becoming a cardio-thoracic surgeon once graduating medical school. When Zoe’s dream does not work out the way she plans she accepts an offer from a stranger, Dr. Harley Wilkes, to work alongside him at his practice in Bluebell, Alabama. Once Zoe gets to Bluebell she discovers that Dr. Wilkes has passed away and left half of his practice to Zoe and half of his practice to the other doctor in town. Now Zoe has to fight to keep her share of the practice while also adapting to living in the south. Zoe quickly realizes that Southern hospitality does not always guarantee that everyone will be hospitable. I do not want to give too much away in case you decide to watch it but I will say that I watch the show religiously and suggest that you all do the same. It is a great show filled with interesting characters and plot twists that keep you longing for the next episode. Catch the hit show on the CW on Mondays at 9/8c.

The beautiful actress has also launched her own shoe collection, ShoeMint. She has teamed up with the famous stylist Nicole Chavez to design shoes perfect for the everyday girl and woman. My favorite trend for spring is the maxi skirt. I love model Hilary Rhoda’s look of pairing the maxi skirt with a crop top and a denim jacket. It is such an easy to look to replicate while also being very comfortable and chic. If you are like me and it is still winter weather where you live try pairing a maxi skirt with a cute top and leather jacket or a cardigan/sweater. The maxi skirt is perfect to wear in winter and transition right into spring so stock up now! Just like everyone else who keeps up to date with their Hollywood gossip, when I heard Heidi Klum and Seal were getting a divorce I could not believe it. I was sad and in disbelief, they seemed like the Hollywood match made in heaven. After watching them perform a duet on the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2007 I was convinced we had finally found the perfect Hollywood pair. Just goes to show not all Hollywood couples are destined to be together forever. I just hope Seal and Heidi Klum are able to deal with their pending divorce privately and their kids are not subject to the crazed paparazzi.

Another look I just can not get over is Angelina Jolie at the 2012 Golden Globes. Angelina is so naturally beautiful and she looked absolutely radiant at the Golden Globes. We are so used to seeing her in dark colors so when she wore this cream colored Versace gown with red accents I was shocked and in awe. This was a great change for her and she looked absolutely gorgeous! The subtle makeup, red lips, and swept back bun really pulled this entire look together! I know I am a little late on this, but I can’t not post about Charlize Theron at the Golden Globes. Charlize Theron looked absolutely stunning at the Golden Globes and I can not get over it. First lets start with her makeup. Her ethereal makeup is absolutely breathtaking. She is such a natural beauty and her simple, beautiful makeup really displays that right along with her hair. The side chignon accompanied by her diamond Cartier collection headband is stunning and perfect for the occasion. Next lets go to her dress. She could not have picked a better dress than the Dior couture gown she wore that night. The pale pink color of her dress was a gorgeous shade on her and the plunging neckline is daring yet classy. I love the high slit in the dress and the dazzling jewel sitting on her cinched waist. This look is absolutely perfect and I think Charlize Theron could not have looked better if she tried. When I got this month’s subscription of Vogue I was amazed! We’re so used to seeing Taylor Swift with subtle makeup and a head full of curls, but this is a whole new look for her. I love the straightened locks with the bold bangs and her brown smoky eyes! Take a cue from Taylor Swift if you are bored with your look and switch it up, it could turn out to be an amazing change!

I have been interning at a Fashion PR Firm in the city for about a month now. I love it and have learned a lot. One thing I discovered while interning is that there are a few things essential to last the 7-hour (if you’re lucky) work day. Check out my tips below:

1. Chapstick/Lip Balm. While running through the city can be extremely tiring, it can also do some damage. The cold brisk air is not helpful when it comes to keeping your lips moisturized. Always carry chap-stick or lip balm or else you will wind up with dry, cracked lips which are painful and not the most flattering.

2. Moisturizer. Just like your lips, your skin can get chapped from the cold winter air as well. Carry around a moisturizer that you can slather on when need be so your skin can stay fresh all day long. I would recommend finding a moisturizer that you can use on your hands as well. Having dry hands when walking through the city can be painful. If you can not find a moisturizer that works on both your hands and face, find yourself two moisturizers. It might seem like a lot to carry but you will thank me when your hands and face are moisturized and no longer suffering from the sting of winter air.

3. A Snack and A Drink. Things can get crazy while interning at a Fashion PR Firm. Constantly pulling clothes for shoots, creating write-ups, checking in items returned, and running errands. Sometimes you might not have the chance to sit down and eat lunch, that’s where the snacks come in. For the days when it has been so crazy, the snacks and drinks I packed were my saving grace. Make sure you always have a couple of snacks and drinks on hand so you can last throughout the days when you have no time for a lunch break.

4. Purell. Hundreds of thousands of people walk through the city every single day, you have no idea where they have been or better yet where there hands have been. When you hold onto the pole while riding the subway, or open a door to get into a store you are constantly touching germs and you may not even realize it. That is where purell comes in. Purell will keep you from getting the germs you do not need and want and allow you to continue on with your day in a healthy way.

5. Comfortable shoes. When walking through the city all day long, 5 inch heels are not the shoes you want to be wearing. I always feel bad for the girls walking down the street wincing in pain because they insist on wearing huge heels. Granted, I love big heels and I know how much they can make an outfit, but I do not think they are worth my feet killing me for the next few days. If you want to wear heels, it is a must that you bring flats along with you to change into when your feet can no longer take the heels. When I saw my best friend’s outfit last night I could not resist photographing it myself (as you can see from the background). I can’t say that I am surprised she put together such an amazing ensemble, she won best dressed in high school and was constantly setting trends. So, when i saw her outfit I instantly thought to share it with all of you. This outfit is simple, comfortable, chic, and affordable—the perfect combination! I love the sateen black finish that give the jeans an unexpected look. The buttons on the oversized sweater give a stylish touch. The lace up booties and the wrap around scarf give the outfit some edge. If you work in fashion this outfit is perfect to wear to work.
